The Oakland Raiders have named rookie quarterback Derek Carr their starter for the 2014 season, according to a report.
The Raiders acquired veteran signal caller Matt Schaub in the off-season along with selecting Carr in the second round of the 2014 Draft, but announced that the 33-year-old would lead the club to start the year.
However, Carr's performances during training camp and pre-season along with Schaub's struggles have led to a change of heart from head coach Dennis Allen and general manager Reggie McKenzie, reports Fox Sports' Jay Glazer.
Oakland face the New York Jets in their 2014 season opener on Sunday.
