Davina McCall has "no idea" over Big Brother revival

Davina McCall says that she has "no idea" about a new series of Big Brother amid speculation that a revival is imminent.

Original Big Brother presenter Davina McCall has admitted that she has "no idea" whether the show will return to UK TV screens in the near future.

The seminal reality show is celebrating 20 years since it first aired and to mark the occasion, McCall teamed up with Rylan Clark-Neal to front retrospective show Big Brother: Best Shows Ever for E4 last month.

The main series has been off the air since being axed by Channel 5 in 2018, although the popularity of E4's show has led to speculation that it could be revived.

One report even suggested that McCall had already been approached to host a new series of Celebrity Big Brother for E4 next year, although the story was subsequently denied.

Asked about the rumours by HuffPost, McCall replied: "TV is in such turmoil at the moment, as far as what's going to be made and what's not going to be made.

"I've got no idea if there are any plans on the table for Big Brother, all I know is that I loved presenting that show with Rylan."

McCall hosted 11 series of Big Brother, as well as seven celebrity editions and one all-stars series, for Channel 4 between 2000 and 2010.
