Simon Cowell planning three more 'Champions' editions of 'Got Talent'

Simon Cowell says that he hopes to run three more series of Britain's Got Talent: The Champions over the next five years.

Simon Cowell has revealed plans to bring back Britain's Got Talent: The Champions for three more series in the next five years.

The spinoff series aired over six weeks last autumn and saw some of the best acts from previous years, as well as acts from the various Got Talent shows around the world, compete to be named the ultimate champion.

The format, which first started in the US alongside America's Got Talent, proved to be a ratings hit for ITV, averaging more than 6 million viewers across its run.

"I hope that over the next five years we will have at least another three more Champions series," Cowell told the Daily Star.

"They are so much fun to do and sometimes with an act the second time around you see they've got better, not on every occasion, but definitely the second series of Champions in America, my god, the talent was breathtaking!"

The regular series of Britain's Got Talent begins a new run this Saturday on ITV.
