E! News cancelled after almost 30 years

E! decides to cancel E! News, as well as Pop of the Morning and In The Room, after 29 years.

Entertainment channel E! has cancelled its live news programme E! News after 29 years on the air.

The announcement comes just a year after the network signalled its intent to increase news programming with a new studio in New York.

E! News, which has featured presenters including Ryan Seacrest and Giuliana Rancic, switched from a night-time LA broadcast to a morning NY show as part of those changes.

News shows Pop of the Morning and In The Room have also been axed amid coronavirus cost-cutting measures, according to Variety.

The publication says that the broadcaster will continue with its other news shows, Daily Pop and Nightly Pop, out of LA.
