Fox News to launch weather channel

Fox News reveals plans to launch a dedicated weather channel in the second half of 2021.

Fox News has announced plans to launch new channel Fox Weather in the second half of 2021.

The new channel will initially operate as a streaming service only and will be launched as part of a mobile app with a dedicated website.

According to Variety, Fox Weather will feature local, regional and national bulletins - as well as live shows - with on-air talent being drawn from the 75 local and national meteorologists who work for Fox-owned stations across the US.

Sharri Berg, new president of Fox Weather, said: "Weather is a vital component to news and combining our trusted reporters and expert meteorologists from Fox News and Fox Television Stations nationwide, the Fox Weather products will be built to serve our audiences in a customised fashion.

"I'm excited to get started as we continue to innovate and build new products from the ground up."

It is unclear whether Fox Weather will be made available as part of Fox Nation, a premium international service that offers live streams of Fox News Channel and the Fox Business channel.
