Grime station Channel U to relaunch in November

Channel U - a TV station dedicated to grime music - is to relaunch on Sky in November.

Grime station Channel U is to make a comeback in November, two years on from its closure.

The channel launched in 2003 as the UK's first station dedicated to the music genre and was instrumental in launching the careers of artists like Dizzee Rascal, Giggs and Wretch 32.

Channel U - later known as Channel AKA - was forced to close down in 2018 amid financial problems but is now being revived by Link Up TV, an online music platform.

The first programme to be broadcast on the channel will be Against All Odds, a movie tracing the history of grime music in the UK.

With its original name restored, Channel U will relaunch on Friday, November 13 on Sky channel 385.
