Coronation Street to return to six episodes a week on September 11

Coronation Street will return to its pre-coronavirus schedule on Friday, September 11.

Coronation Street will return to broadcasting six episodes a week starting on Friday, September 11, it has been revealed.

ITV cut the soap down to three episodes a week after production stopped in March because of the coronavirus pandemic but filming resumed in June and now the broadcaster is in a position to restore the usual schedule.

According to The Sun, two episodes will air back to back on September 11, with six episodes being broadcast the following week.

Corrie is expected to return to its 7.30pm and 8.30pm pattern on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, with EastEnders moving from 8pm to 8.30pm on September 11 to ensure no clash between the two soaps.

Emmerdale is also due to return to six episodes a week in September, although an exact date has yet to be revealed.
