Former Coronation Street star Katie McGlynn is reportedly in negotiations to appear on this year's series of Strictly Come Dancing.
The exact format of the show remains up in the air, with producers having to adapt production in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, although it is expected to go ahead as usual in the autumn.
According to The Mirror, ex-Corrie actress McGlynn is in the frame to join the lineup after impressing on a Sport Relief edition of The Greatest Dancer earlier this year.
The 26-year-old played the part of Sinead Tinker in the long-running ITV soap, bowing out late last year in an acclaimed plot that saw her character succumb to cervical cancer.
"Katie has been in talks with Strictly and it's looking positive. She's cleared her diary for the end of the year as she'd love to do it," a source told the newspaper.
"She's shown her talent on the BBC's Greatest Dancer for Sport Relief and would love to improve even further. She'd be a great pull for the show as soap fans loved her on Corrie."
Other new names rumoured for the show include Gillian Anderson, Jessie J and Sandi Toksvig.
