Maureen Lipman has discussed her return to Coronation Street after almost six months away from set due to coronavirus.
The long-running soap resumed filming in June under new health and safety protocols, although cast members aged 70 and over, as well as those with existing health conditions, were initially kept away.
Lipman, who turned 74 during the coronavirus lockdown, returned to set late last month, meaning that Evelyn Plummer should be seen back on screen in episodes airing next month.
"It's really weird, I can't begin to describe how weird it is," Lipman told The One Show.
"We did a sort of fight scene last week and I'm trying to get between two men who are all two metres apart and I'm going 'pack it in, pack it in!'"
She added: "It's challenging. This is the thing about what we're going through now - we are having to be resourceful. It's a war against the virus. We're having to throw at it everything we've got. In a funny sort of way it's exciting."
Coronation Street returns to six episodes a week starting with a double episode this Friday on ITV.
