Coronation Street executive producer Iain MacLeod reveals that Todd will ramp up his plot to split up Billy and Todd in the coming months.

Coronation Street executive producer Iain MacLeod has revealed that Todd will continue to cause trouble for Paul and Billy in the months ahead.

Since he returned to Weatherfield several months ago, Todd (Gareth Pierce) has been secretly plotting to break up the couple so that he can get back with ex Billy (Daniel Brocklebank) - and his most recent machinations ended up with Paul (Peter Ash) getting arrested for assault.

Speaking to reporters about future storylines, MacLeod hinted that Todd may succeed with his aim, but any happiness he has will be short-lived.

"He will set out in a very underhand way to undermine Paul and Billy's relationship, and he'll ultimately, at least temporarily, look like he's got everything he wants," he said.

"But unfortunately the lengths to which he had to go to to get what he wants will be the very thing that will be his undoing in the end.

"He kind of gets his happy ending but it's already got a massive fracture in it and in a very explosive, dramatic, again quite thriller-ish way later in the year Todd's machinations will all come to light and he'll end up losing everything again."

Coronation Street continues Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV.
