Claire Sweeney, Ricky Hatton, Hannah Spearritt and Amber Davies are confirmed as the first four contestants on next year's Dancing On Ice.

ITV has confirmed the identities of the first four celebrities taking part in the next series of Dancing On Ice.

Producers have now settled on the 12-strong lineup for the 2024 edition of the show, which will be the first without Phillip Schofield as Holly Willoughby's co-host after he was let go by ITV earlier this year.

First in the lineup is Ricky Hatton, a former world champion boxer with a 45-3 record across his 15-year professional career.

"If I can hold my nerve in the boxing ring I should be able to hold my nerve in the ice rink," he said. "I like setting new challenges and keeping myself busy!"

Next up is actress and performer Claire Sweeney, who joined the cast of Coronation Street earlier this year playing Cassie, the estranged daughter of Dame Maureen Lipman's character Evelyn.

She said of taking part: "I'm really looking forward to going to an ice rink with my son and actually being able to skate and not have to use the penguins they give you to help you stay upright!"

Also in the lineup is former S Club 7 star Hannah Spearritt, who pulled out of the band's upcoming reunion tour following the death of ex-boyfriend Paul Cattermole.

"I'm really excited about learning a new skill," she said. "It's so easy to live your comfortable life and that aspect of mixing things up is very appealing. Fitness is another reason why I'm doing it! It's really exciting."

The final celebrity announced so far is Amber Davies, the winner of the 2017 series of Love Island who has since become a West End performer.

"I can count on one hand how many times I've ice skated," she said, adding: "I would definitely say that I'm an adrenaline junkie but I do get more nervous as I get older and I hope that I can contain them, I don't want the adrenaline to get the better of me."

The new series gets underway on ITV in January.
