Paul Dano: 'The Batman script is potentially really powerful'

The Batman star Paul Dano praises director Matt Reeves, calling him "the real deal".

Paul Dano has revealed that the upcoming The Batman movie will be "potentially really powerful" under the direction of Matt Reeves.

The new film, due for release next year, sees Robert Pattinson take over from Ben Affleck as the caped crusader, with Dano taking on the role of the Riddler.

Filming began in London at the start of the year but was abruptly brought to a halt in March by the coronavirus pandemic, with no date yet set for its resumption.

"I feel really good about it. I think Matt Reeves is the real deal," Dano told The Playlist when asked about the movie. "I was really surprised by his script, which I think is potentially really powerful."

He added: "Hopefully we'll get to get back to it some time soon? I'm not sure."

Other cast members on The Batman include Zoe Kravitz (Catwoman), Jeffrey Wright (Commissioner Gordon), Peter Sarsgaard (attorney Gil Colson), Andy Serkis (Alfred) and Colin Farrell (Penguin).
