Jodie Whittaker delivers coronavirus message as The Doctor

Doctor Who's Jodie Whittaker appears as The Doctor in a special clip to offer advice on how to deal with the coronavirus outbreak.

Doctor Who star Jodie Whittaker has recorded a special video message in character as The Doctor following the coronavirus lockdown.

Many countries around the world have now ordered their citizens to stay indoors for the foreseeable future in an effort to slow the spread of the deadly disease, which has infected more than 440,000 and killed almost 20,000 to date.

Who is watched by millions of children globally and in the short clip, The Doctor gives them a reassuring message and tips on what to do during the lockdown.

"Remember, you'll get through this and things will be alright," she says. "Even if they look uncertain, even if you're worried – darkness never prevails."
