EastEnders legend Michelle Collins gives her thoughts on the Cindy-George-Ian triangle.

EastEnders legend Michelle Collins has said that her character Cindy "can't help but create drama" as she juggles husband Ian (Adam Woodyatt) and ex George (Colin Salmon).

Since her shock return from the dead to the Square last year, Cindy has constantly flitted between both men - and a recent kiss with George led to him being dumped by fiancée Elaine (Harriet Thorpe).

In episodes airing this week, Cindy will make a play to get back with George and engineers for them to have a family dinner with their girls while Ian sits alone at home.

"Cindy is quite delusional, so she builds up a little scenario in her head where she and George are this perfect team," explained Collins.

"I think she has genuine love for George but how much that has to do with their girls, I don't know. What I do know is that Cindy doesn't like to be turned down and one of the things that makes George so interesting is that she's not his world anymore. There's a part of her that desperately wants George but also knows she might not get him."

Cindy's behaviour echoes that of her '90s heyday, when she also had two men on the go - Ian, again, and his half-brother David Wicks (Michael French).

"If we had the old Cindy back, she wouldn't be able to live in Albert Square! But I do think she's up to her old tricks again," Collins admitted.

"Cindy's good at being manipulative, and for some reason, she can make men do what she wants them to for a while. Eventually, I think they catch on.

"Living a nice, quiet family life isn't Cindy. Some people calm down a bit as they get older, but not Cindy. She's bold, brazen and can't help but create drama. If you thought that Cindy had settled down, forget it!"

EastEnders continues Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One and drops on iPlayer at 6am.
