Louisa Lytton has been revealed as the latest EastEnders star returning to the show ahead of its 40th anniversary next February.
The actress will be reprising her role of Ruby Allen for a "prolonged stint" later this year, almost three years after the character was last seen in Walford.
Having broken up Martin (James Bye) and Stacey (Lacey Turner), Ruby's web of lies was finally exposed and she was sent to prison having been framed for running a cannabis farm.
When she left, Ruby claimed to be pregnant with Martin's baby but he refused to believe her - and when she returns, the truth will come out.
"I am thrilled to have been asked back to the Square to revisit Ruby once more, and to shed some light on what the past three years have been like for her during her time away from Walford," said Lytton, who first appeared in the soap in 2005.
"I've always loved playing Ruby as there is never a dull moment and I cannot wait for everyone to see what Ruby has in store."
Exec producer Chris Clenshaw added: "I'm delighted to welcome Louisa Lytton back to the role of Ruby Allen. Ruby's departure from Walford left many unanswered questions for Martin and Stacey, and her return is sure to unearth a whole heap of drama for her character and all those involved."
Other EastEnders stars to have returned - or to have been confirmed as returning - ahead of the 40th include Patsy Palmer (Bianca), Michael French (David Wicks), Laurie Brett (Jane), Tracy-Ann Oberman (Chrissie Watts) and Matt Di Angelo (Dean Wicks).
