West Ham United captain Jarrod Bowen made a surprise cameo in Wednesday's episode of EastEnders as the soap prepares to celebrate its 40th anniversary next week.
The 28-year-old - also a 14-cap England international - has strong connections with the soap as his fiancée Dani Dyer is the daughter of E20 legend Danny Dyer, who played Mick Carter from 2013 to 2022.
In Wednesday's episode, Bowen was seen in a video message sent to Hammers fan Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) wishing him well ahead of his wedding to Honey (Emma Barton).
Speaking about the cameo, Bowen said: "It's great to be part of the EastEnders 40th anniversary celebrations and appear on the show.
"EastEnders is loved by so many people and obviously has a strong link to the East London community, so to represent West Ham United in this very special episode is a really nice moment for everyone connected with the club."
The 40th anniversary episodes of EastEnders air next week on BBC One and iPlayer, including an hour-long special on Wednesday and a live episode on Thursday.
