Piers Morgan challenges "Billy Big Balls" Andrew Bridgen to bet

Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan challenges Conservative MP Andrew Bridgen to a £10,000 bet after the politician claimed he would be sacked by Christmas.

Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan has stepped up his row with Conservative MP Andrew Bridgen, challenging him to a £10,000 bet.

The pair had a fiery clash on Monday's edition of the breakfast show, prompting almost 300 complaints to TV regulator Ofcom for its combative nature.

Bridgen subsequently gave an interview to talkRADIO where he berated Morgan and suggested that he will be sacked by ITV before Christmas due to his interviewing style.

Responding to Bridgen's claims on today's show, Morgan declared: "Why don't we have a little bet for charity? I've suggested £10,000. So put your money where your mouth is, Mr Bridgen. We can give it to a charity of your choice, or mine, whoever loses can pay up.

"If you're prepared to match your Billy Big Balls talk on talkRadio with hard cash, then I'm here. If not, pipe down."

In an apparent dig at BBC Breakfast, Morgan went on to defend his habit of interrupting guests, adding: "That's not how it works. It's how it works on some programmes actually to be fair. The MP sits there and gets asked 'what's your favourite colour?' and for 20 minutes they sit there and give their favourite colour. And there are no supplementaries."

In a final challenge, he told Bridgen: "Why don't you come back [on the show] on Boxing Day, the day after I win my bet?"

All government ministers are allegedly banned from appearing on GMB due to Morgan's interviewing style.
