Home and Away actress Sam Frost admits that she is uncertain if the show will have to scale back on episodes due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Home and Away actress Sam Frost has admitted that she is unsure what will happen to the show in the months ahead due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Filming on the long-running Aussie soap shut down a few weeks ago due to the spread of COVID-19, with no clear date yet on when it will be safe to resume production.

Home and Away typically films three months in advance, meaning that it theoretically has a bigger reserve of episodes than other soaps, although the bushfire crisis late last year means that production was already out of kilter.

"They obviously want us back as soon as possible, but how many completed episodes we have, I don't know," Frost - Jasmine Delaney on the show - told an Aussie radio show.

"We were pretty far behind with the bushfires and there was a couple of cast that were out with family issues.

"We are pretty far behind, I wouldn't be surprised - and I don't know this - if we have to maybe do to a couple episodes a week or so. I don't know what they're going to do!"

Seven in Australia is currently showing four episodes a week, while in the UK, Channel 5 have pre-emptively reduced the soap to twice a week.
