New Spider-Man film delayed again

Coronavirus forces the new Spider-Man movie to be delayed by another month to December 2021.

The release of the new Spider-Man movie has been pushed back another month to December 17, 2021.

The third standalone film with Tom Holland in the titular role was originally due for release next July but the coronavirus pandemic saw it postponed by four months.

Sony Pictures has now rearranged the opening for the slot originally reserved for the long-awaited Avatar 2, which has been delayed by an entire year to Christmas 2022.

The new movie - as yet untitled - has yet to begin filming and will once again be directed by Jon Watts, who oversaw the first two Holland movies.

Marvel has earmarked the film as the fourth release in Phase Four of the MCU.
