Biggins: 'Barbara Windsor very comfortable and happy'

Christopher Biggins says that Dame Barbara Windsor is doing well in her new care home setting.

Christopher Biggins has revealed that close friend Dame Barbara Windsor is doing well after moving into a care home.

The TV legend's doting husband Scott Mitchell has revealed that the 82-year-old was moved to a London care home in July amid her ongoing battle with Alzheimer's disease.

The decision means that the former EastEnders actress can receive specialist care around the clock and, speaking to The Sun, Biggins said that he believes the move was the right one for her.

"It is such a difficult situation and Scott has behaved impeccably," he said. "I don't know how he has done it. He deserves the highest accolade that anybody can give anybody, together with all carers.

"The decision I know wasn't easy but I think he has made the right decision for everybody concerned.

"It is just tragic. But you have to look to the future and to Barbara's comfort. I hear she is very comfortable and happy."

Biggins added that he is planning to visit Windsor in the near future.
