Ellen DeGeneres poised to quit talkshow after latest allegations?

Ellen DeGeneres is giving serious consideration to axing her long-running talkshow after a fresh round of serious allegations, according to a report.

Ellen DeGeneres is said to be giving serious thought to calling it a day with her talkshow following its recent controversies.

Warner Bros is currently conducting an internal investigation following allegations about the behaviour of senior figures working on the show and on Thursday, the 62-year-old broke her silence in an apology letter to staff.

Yesterday allegations of an even more serious nature emerged in a report on Buzzfeed, which said that "dozens" of employees on the show had come forward to allege sexual harassment by an executive producer.

The publication claims that the male executive producer in question solicited younger male employees for masturbatory and oral sex, while other male executive producers have also been accused of inappropriate behaviour behind the scenes.

According to the Daily Mail, DeGeneres is now mulling whether to pull the plug on the show after 17 years amid fears that its reputation is irrevocably damaged.

"She feels she can't go on and the only way to recover her personal brand from this is to shut down the show," a source told the newspaper.

"The truth is she knew what was going on, it's her show. The buck stops with her. She can blame every executive under the sun – but Ellen is ultimately the one to blame."

The talkshow is currently on its summer break and is scheduled to return in early September.
