FOX apologises, deletes offensive "ch**k" tweet

FOX apologises after an offensive tweet is sent out from the social media account for new series I Can See Your Voice.

FOX has issued an apology after the social media account for its new show I Can See Your Voice posted out a tweet that was deemed offensive by some viewers.

The series is effectively an inverse version of The Voice, with the judges able to see but not hear the singers in front of them.

The official Twitter account for the show sent out a video of contestant Julian Mendoza, who was performing while dressed as a knight, alongside the message: "Do you think there's a chink in Knight's vocal armor?"

After followers complained, FOX deleted the tweet and issued a statement reading: "On Wednesday, we posted a tweet in conjunction with I Can See Your Voice that was inappropriate.

"The tweet has since been removed. We sincerely apologise to the Asian community and to all whom it offended."

A UK version of the show is due to air on BBC One next year with judges including Amanda Holden, Jimmy Carr and Alison Hammond.
