Mary Berry reportedly signs up for a new BBC series that will see her teach useless cooks how to serve up a perfect Christmas meal for their families.

Mary Berry has reportedly signed up to host a new festive cookery series that will see her attempt to teach inadequate cooks how to make a perfect Christmas dinner.

Tentatively titled Mary Berry Saves Christmas, the show will see ordinary people undergo lessons with the 85-year-old cookery icon and then surprise their families with an impressive Christmas spread.

According to The Sun, producers are seeking contestants who "love a bit of Bake Off but whose talents don't go beyond making a Pot Noodle".

The show is expected to be filmed next month for broadcast on BBC One in the weeks running up to Christmas.

Meanwhile, Berry recently completed filming of a celebrity version of Britain's Best Home Cook with contestants including Ed Balls, Rachel Johnson and Gareth Thomas.
