Netflix 'planning Jimmy Savile documentary'

Netflix is reportedly planning a new documentary based around the paedophile sex offender Jimmy Savile.

Netflix is reportedly planning a feature-length documentary on the paedophile sex offender Jimmy Savile.

The DJ and TV host died in 2011 aged 84 and after his death it emerged that he had been one of the UK's most prolific ever sex offenders, with hundreds of women coming forward to allege that he had assaulted them as children.

During his life Savile held status as a natural treasure and despite rumours in media circles, he managed to commit his heinous crimes - which were alleged to include necrophilia - in plain sight for decades.

Netflix has had success recently with documentaries on the disappearance of Madeleine McCann and the paedophile Jeffrey Epstein and, according to The Sun, is now planning a Savile documentary for next year.

"Netflix hope it will air next year," a source told the newspaper. "It will consider some of his friendships with famous faces and the Royal Family, and how he got away with so much despite being in the public eye for so long."

Netflix is also working on a series based on the Yorkshire Ripper.
