New Tamar Braxton reality series to go ahead as planned

WE tv releases Tamar Braxton from her contract with the network but plans to air her new reality series as planned in September.

US network WE tv has confirmed that Tamar Braxton's new reality series will air from September in spite of her suicide attempt last month.

Speaking for the first time after trying to take her own life, the 43-year-old issued a scathing statement hitting out at the reality TV industry for putting "excessive and unfair" pressures on her.

The singer and TV personality suggested that she was ignored when she asked to be released from her contract and in response, WE tv has confirmed that they have now granted her request.

However, the broadcaster still plans to air her new series Get Ya Life! on September 10 after it was postponed from its original air date of July 30.

"Tamar Braxton has been an important part of our network family for more than a decade," WE tv told TMZ.

"As she focuses on her health and recovery at what is clearly a difficult and personal time, we will work with her representatives to honour her request to end all future work for the network."

WE tv reportedly intends to air Get Ya Life!, which follows Braxton's "epic journey to reclaim love, reboot her music career, and reconcile with her family", as originally planned without any additional edits in the light of her suicide attempt.
