"No plans" to move Glastonbury 2021 from June to September

Glastonbury organiser Emily Eavis says that there are "no plans" to move Glastonbury 2021 from June to September.

Glastonbury organiser Emily Eavis has insisted that there are no plans at present to reschedule next summer's festival due to coronavirus.

This year's 50th anniversary edition of the festival had to be cancelled amid the rapid spread of the killer disease earlier this year, although everyone that was due to attend has been guaranteed a ticket for 2021 instead.

Emily's father Michael Eavis recently cast doubt on whether it would be safe enough for Glastonbury 2021 to go ahead, branding it "wishful thinking", although it has recently been suggested that it could be moved to later in the year instead.

"For those who have been asking, we have no plans to move next year's Glastonbury to September 2021 - we're still very much aiming for June," Emily wrote on Twitter.

"Also, we've moved our ticket resale back from October to April, because so few people have asked for a refund (next year's Festival remains sold out), meaning we don't have enough tickets to resell. Plus, we've extended the free cancellation deadline until the end of January."

Sir Paul McCartney and Taylor Swift had been signed up to headline the 2020 festival before its cancellation.
