Sara Davies reveals Dragons' Den delays

Dragons' Den 'crafting queen' Sara Davies reveals that she show is adapting filming to comply with social distancing guidelines.

Sara Davies has revealed that Dragons' Den is being adapted in order to comply with social distancing regulations.

The long-running BBC business show was due to begin filming a new series last month, with another series following later this year, but both have been delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The government has this week given the tentative go-ahead for shows like Dragons' Den to resume filming if they can do so, and 'crafting queen' Davies has now suggested that production could pick up again next month.

"So we were due to start a new series of filming in the middle of April, which has obviously been postponed because they aren't able to set up the studio in a way that everybody can [work]," Davies told Metro.

"Such a big crew work on it, it's just too big a programme that they aren't able to film in a way that we're not socially distanced.

"So they've postponed the filming for a couple of months to give themselves time to work out how we could adjust the crew and the staffing, to be able to manage within social distancing regulation."

The new series of Dragons' Den is due to air from mid-August on BBC Two.
