Sky to launch new movie channel Sky Cinema Animation

Sky announces the launch of a new channel called Sky Cinema Animation next month.

Sky has announced plans to launch a new channel dedicated to animated films called Sky Cinema Animation next month.

The themed channel has previously appeared as a pop-up service but will now become a permanent fixture on July 23, the broadcaster confirmed today.

Reports have suggested that the station will replace the timeshift channel Sky Premiere+1, meaning that Sky Cinema will expand from 11 channels to 12 for the first time.

Titles on the channel will include the Despicable Me movies, The Secret Life of Pets 2, The Lego Movie 2 and How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World.

Sky Cinema Animation will also launch on NowTV at no additional cost to existing Sky Cinema customers.
