The Steph Show 'to return in September'

Channel 4 is reportedly planning to bring back The Steph Show for a new run in September.

Channel 4 is looking to bring back The Steph Show for a new run in September, according to Broadcast.

The lunchtime chatshow, fronted by Steph McGovern, launched earlier than planned in March from McGovern's own home as the UK entered coronavirus lockdown.

The programme came off the air after six weeks, however, as it proved unsustainable to continue broadcasting live from her house amid alleged complaints from her neighbours.

Now Channel 4 has earmarked a mid-September return for the show, albeit this time from its new studio in Leeds, which was partway through being constructed when the lockdown kicked in.

The series was envisaged to have a live studio audience every day, but social distancing rules now make that unlikely, with producers instead considering having a small number of 'family bubbles' attend recordings.
