Clara Amfo 'in talks for Strictly Come Dancing'

The BBC is reportedly hopeful of convincing Radio 1 DJ Clara Amfo to sign up for Strictly Come Dancing.

Radio 1 DJ Clara Amfo is reportedly a target for the upcoming new series of Strictly Come Dancing.

The 36-year-old has been with the BBC for the last seven years and is a firm favourite on Radio 1, earning plaudits recently after her impassioned monologue about the death of George Floyd went viral.

According to The Mirror, Amfo - also known as the voice of Channel 4's iconic series Coach Trip - has been approached about appearing but has yet to commit.

"Clara is now a familiar BBC face and producers want her," a source told the newspaper. "The show wants to cast a diverse range of talent."

The new series is due to begin in October.
