Davina McCall reveals The Masked Singer will have audience

The Masked Singer judge Davina McCall insists that the upcoming second series of the show will have a live studio audience.

The Masked Singer judge Davina McCall has revealed that the upcoming second series will go ahead with a studio audience.

ITV was quick to order a new run of the show, which sees mystery celebrities sing and perform while wearing elaborate costumes, after the ratings success of the first earlier this year.

Due to the ongoing problems caused by the coronavirus pandemic, there had been speculation that series two could go ahead without an audience present - despite the audience playing a key part in determining which celebrities are unmasked.

Talking about the show on her podcast Making The Cut, McCall revealed: "It's coming back! We are going to start filming in September or October.

"The audience situation will be easier with a one-metre rule. But things are changing so rapidly now with the easing that September is a lifetime away. It may well be that social distancing has gone out the window by that point."

McCall will be joined by returning judges Jonathan Ross, Rita Ora and Ken Jeong, while Joel Dommett will be back as host.
