ITV plan changes for The Masked Singer series two?

ITV are said to be looking at bringing back The Masked Singer for a second series sooner rather than later.

ITV has reportedly given the go-ahead to a second series of The Masked Singer UK to air at some point this year.

The show, based on a South Korean format, sees mystery celebrities perform songs while concealed inside giant costumes.

The first series was a sleeper ratings hit for ITV when it aired earlier this year and according to The Guardian, the show could now return sooner rather than later.

The broadcaster is keen to air big entertainment shows during the coronavirus pandemic - although current social distancing guidelines are making this difficult.

One suggestion said to be under consideration is to axe live studio audiences when The Masked Singer returns, despite their votes being required to decide which singer to unmask.

The first series was won by ex-Girls Aloud singer Nicola Roberts, who had been dressed as a giant bumble bee.
