Joe Exotic is thought to have offered his services in the mission to locate Carole Baskin's missing ex-husband Don Lewis.
The hit Netflix series Tiger King explored the long-standing rivalry between Exotic and Baskin - including his allegation that she murdered Lewis and fed his body to her tigers.
Lewis was legally declared dead in 2002, five years after he went mysteriously missing the day before he was due to fly to Costa Rica and several months after he had taken out a restraining order against Baskin.
Baskin has always maintained that she has no knowledge of what happened to her former partner but last week she was hit with a lawsuit by Lewis's family as part of an attempt to finally find out the truth.
According to TMZ, Exotic has been eagerly following the developments from his jail cell and has "reached out" to Lewis's family with information that may help in their search.
The publication claims that the family are keen to work with Exotic and a date is now being scheduled for him to meet with their lawyer.
