American footballer Travis Kelce lands a mystery role in Ryan Murphy's new horror series Grotesquerie.

American footballer Travis Kelce has been cast in a mystery role in Ryan Murphy's new horror series Grotesquerie.

The 34-year-old's profile has risen considerably over the last year - not just for his Super Bowl-winning antics with the Kansas City Chiefs but also through his relationship with Taylor Swift.

First announced in February, little is known about Grotesquerie, other than it is not directly connected to American Horror Story and includes Niecy Nash-Betts, Lesley Manville and Courtney B Vance on its cast.

News of Kelce's involvement was broken by Nash-Betts, who posted a short video on set saying: "Guys, guess who I am working with on Grotesquerie?"

Kelce then appeared in shot, smiling and saying to the camera: "Jumping into new territory!"

The sportsman later reGrammed the video on his own account alongside the caption: "Steppin into a new world with one of the legends!"

Grotesquerie is scheduled to air on FX in the US towards the end of the year.
