Ariana Grande makes four weeks at number one with Positions

Ariana Grande notches up a fourth week on top of the UK singles chart with 'Positions'.

Ariana Grande's 'Positions' has notched up a fourth successive week at number one in the UK singles chart, according to final figures from the Official Charts Company.

The track edged out Billie Eilish's new song 'Therefore I Am' by just 960 chart sales, having been buoyed by some 5.6 million streams over the course of the week.

Earlier in the week the all-star cover of 'Stop Crying Your Heart Out' for Children In Need had been in pole position but petered out in recent days and eventually charted at number seven.

Further down the chart, Mariah Carey classic 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' re-enters the Top 40 earlier than in any previous year, returning at number 31 as a unique 2020 begins to finally draw to a close.

On the albums chart, veteran rockers AC/DC romped to number one with Power, which secured 62,000 chart sales to take the title of fastest-selling album of the year from last week's number one, Kylie Minogue's DISCO.

McFly get their highest-charting album in 15 years with Wonderland, in at two, while Andrea Bocelli's Believe is third and Paloma Faith's Infinite Things opens at four.
