Matt Lucas's 'Baked Potato' song heading for top five

Matt Lucas's NHS charity single 'Thank You Baked Potato' is on course to reach the top 5 in the singles chart.

Matt Lucas's charity single 'Thank You Baked Potato' is tracking at number five in this week's singles chart, according to data from the Official Charts Company.

The comedian re-recorded the song, 20 years after first performing it on Shooting Stars, to raise money for NHS workers helping to battle the coronavirus pandemic.

The Weeknd and Saint Jhn are on course to stay put at one and two with 'Blinding Lights' and 'Roses' respectively, while Drake's new single 'Toosie Slide' is at three based on Friday and Saturday sales.

Elsewhere, Bill Withers looks set to re-enter the UK top 40 after his death at the age of 81 on Monday. 'Lean On Me' is currently at 16, while 'Ain't No Sunshine' is at 18 and 'Lovely Day' is at 26.
