Kevin Kolb is to be released from his contract with the Arizona Cardinals, it has been reported.
A source has told NFL.com that the quarterback, who was the starter for the team prior to sustaining a rib injury last season, will not be on the roster by the weekend.
The organisation had previously stated that the 28-year-old's contract would be reviewed before the start of the 2013 campaign.
The Cardinals have added Drew Stanton to the team following the opening of the free agency period earlier this week.
Kolb, who was traded to Arizona from the Philadelphia Eagles in 2011, has already been linked to the New York Jets.
