Haloti Ngata has said that he does not know the extent of the damage to his knee.
The Baltimore Ravens defensive lineman sprained his knee during the third quarter of the Super Bowl in the build-up to a touchdown from Frank Gore.
After the game, Ngata told NFL.com: "I feel a lot better now. My knee is numb. But doctors don't really know if any ligaments are torn. We'll know in Baltimore."
The 29-year-old missed the remainder of the game following the collision with San Francisco 49ers guard Alex Boone.
Trainers were treating Ngata on the field for several minutes before taking him to the locker room.
The Ravens went on to win the game 34-31.
