Mary Wilson, the widow of late Buffalo Bills owner Ralph Wilson, has been confirmed by the franchise as the new controlling owner until it is sold.
Ralph Wilson died on March 25 at the age of 95, and Mary said that president Russ Brandon would remain in charge of the day-to-day operations while she was owner.
"I have complete confidence in Russ Brandon, our president and CEO, to continue his duties of running the organisation," Mary Wilson said in a statement on the club's official website.
"General manager Doug Whaley and head coach Doug Marrone remain empowered by Russ to run the football operation."
The Bills said that they would announce the sale of the club in due course.
