Doug Marrone: 'New Buffalo Bills quarterbacks learning foundations'

Buffalo Bills head coach Doug Marrone says that the new quarterbacks are learning the fundamentals of the team's gamebook ahead of their final pre-season game.

Doug Marrone has said that the Buffalo Bills' new quarterbacks have been working on the fundamentals of the team's offensive system.

The AFC East side signed Matt Leinart and Thaddeus Lewis earlier this week to provide cover following injuries to EJ Manuel and Kevin Kolb.

The head coach told the team's website: "Obviously we're not going to be able to execute the whole plan. Right now we're just working on a lot of the fundamentals and foundation things, especially going into this last game. That's what we're doing now making sure the foundation is in.

"This one obviously as coaches we're starting to prepare for the first two games of the season and doing all the checking.

"Then going into the last pre-season game and just going in and playing with I don't want to say a skeleton game plan, but a pretty tight game plan. Obviously it'll have to be tighter with the new quarterbacks."

The Bills play the Detroit Lions in their final pre-season game tomorrow night.
