Cam Newton has said that the Carolina Panthers still have a long way to go this season, despite their 38-0 over the New York Giants last weekend.
The NFC South side, who have a bye this week, scored five touchdowns against the Giants to secure their first win of the NFL season.
The quarterback told the team's official website: "For us, this is just one step. We have a long way to go. We haven't achieved anything yet.
"It's very big. Any time you talk about great teams or teams that mesh, one common denominator is a particular swagger. You never see a playoff caliber team play scared or conservative. As an offense, we had opportunities in the red zone, and instead of putting three points up we scored touchdowns.
"This is a marathon, this is not a sprint. We have to prepare for that mentally and physically. We can't get beside ourselves with this win. It's a great win, but at the same time, we have to get prepared for Arizona."
The Panthers face the Arizona Cardinals in their next match.
