Chicago Bears cut running back Michael Bush

The Chicago Bears confirm that they have released veteran running back Michael Bush after two years with the club.

The Chicago Bears have announced that they have released running back Michael Bush ahead of free agency.

The 29-year-old joined the club in the 2012 season from the Oakland Raiders and had a steady year behind primary back Matt Forte, running for over 400 yards and five touchdowns.

However, Bush saw his role diminish last season under new head coach Marc Trestman, which culminated in his release ahead of the first day of the new league year on Tuesday.

The running back ran for 197 yards and three touchdowns in the 2013 campaign.
