Rob Sims: 'No reason for Brandon Marshall attack'

Lions left guard Rob Sims slams Brandon Marshall for comments the Chicago Bears wide receiver made about the city of Detroit.

Detroit Lions left guard Rob Sims has slammed Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall for comments he made about the team and the city.

Marshall referred to the Lions as the Bears' "annoying little brother" before going on to mock the dire economic state of the city at the moment.

Sims believes that Marshall had no right to bring up the off-field issues being experienced by Detroit, and warned the 29-year-old that he would be there to answer any criticism of the Lions.

"If you want to go after somebody, we standing right here. We ain't running from nobody," Sims told reporters.

"The city and what it's going through, there's no reason to attack that. That's a different situation. A lot of people are hurting off that, so there's no reason for him to come at that."

Marshall also claimed that the Lions employed "borderline illegal" tactics during Sunday's meeting between the two sides, a match that ended 21-19 in Detroit's favour.
