Chicago Bears head coach Marc Trestman has revealed that he was solely focused on beating the Dallas Cowboys last night rather than thinking about any impact the game might have on their playoff hopes.
The Bears blew the Cowboys away at Soldier Field, with Josh McCown throwing for 348 yards and four touchdowns as well as running for one of his own on the way to a 45-28 victory.
The result leaves Chicago tied with the Detroit Lions at the top of the NFC North with just three games of the regular season remaining, but Trestman insists that he was looking no further ahead than last night's match.
"All we could do is try to beat the Dallas Cowboys. We kept it as simple as that," Trestman told The AP.
"We didn't get into all the hypotheticals and all the things that go into winning or losing a game."
The Bears currently have a 7-6 record for the season and will face the Cleveland Browns, the Philadelphia Eagles and the Green Bay Packers in their final three games.
