Cleveland Browns head coach Mike Pettine has revealed that the team will start quarterback Josh McCown if he is cleared to play on Sunday.
The 36-year-old suffered a head injury on the opening drive against the New York Jets, which saw backup Johnny Manziel play the rest of the game.
The veteran quarterback will need to pass the NFL's concussion protocol in order to play but according to Petinne, McCown already knows the basic gameplan for their game against the Tennessee Titans.
Pettine told reporters: "I don't see any reason we wouldn't play him.
"There's a lot of plays up that are up for this plan that he's already gotten multiple reps on. When we game plan for the first quarter of the season and started to work some of that stuff late in training camp, it carries over."
McCown joined the Cleveland Browns in free agency after starting 11 games for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last season, where he threw 11 touchdowns.
