Dallas Cowboys guard Ronald Leary is likely to require surgery on his right knee after being sent home from training for a scan.
Although the Cowboys have not revealed the extent of the injury coach Jason Garrett told Fox that the player should be back in "a couple of weeks".
It leaves Cowboys short on cover at guard, with Mackenzy Bernadeau and Nate Livings also recovering from injury.
Leary was drafted by the Cowboys this season and will be taking part in his rookie year.
