Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning has admitted that he was "honoured and humbled" to break the NFL record for career passing touchdowns.
The 38-year-old surpassed Brett Favre's record by throwing his 509th touchdown strike of his career in his side's win over the San Francisco 49ers at Sports Authority Field.
Manning also paid tribute to his teammates and coaches at the Indianapolis Colts and the Broncos, who he has played with during his 17-year career, for helping him reach the milestone.
He told reporters: "I'm very humbled and very honoured. I certainly think about how grateful I am for all the teammates and coaches that I've played with and played for throughout my career, not only here in Denver - in Indianapolis and all the people that have helped me along the way.
"I've always been a big fan of quarterbacks, whether it's Brett Favre or Dan Marino or John Elway. I'm very honoured and humbled to join a pretty unique club."
Manning broke the NFL records for passing touchdowns in a season and passing yardage in the 2013 campaign.
