Peyton Manning pleased with opening display

Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning believes that his side's offense played well in their first outing of pre-season in their victory over the Seattle Seahawks.

Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning feels that his side showed promising signs in their victory over the Seattle Seahawks in their pre-season opener.

John Fox's side beat their conquerors of Super Bowl XLVIII at Sports Authority Field in a 21-16 win, and Manning showed similar form to his record-breaking 2013 season in the victory.

"I don't think I've ever had an 18-play drive in the pre-season," Manning told reporters. "We had a number of those last year it seems like.

"You don't like to have the penalties that kept setting ourselves back, but it was nice that we were able to overcome those penalties, which is something we did a lot last year.

"It was good to get that drive into the endzone. I thought Ronnie [Hillman] and CJ [Anderson] had a couple nice runs. Demaryius Thomas made some nice plays. There will be good things we can learn from on this film."

The Broncos face the San Francisco 49ers in their second pre-season game next week.
