Jermichael Finley 'staying at Packers'

Jermichael Finley says that he does not believe reports that the Green Bay Packers will drop him after the current season.

Jermichael Finley has said that he wants to play for the Green Bay Packers for the rest of his career, following reports at the weekend that he would be cut by the team at the end of the season.

The tight end has just two touchdowns this season, one of the lowest totals of a starting tight end in the NFL.

The 25-year-old told ESPN: "I didn't check [the reports] out. It's a business, and I would love to be here my whole career. I'm comfortable here, and I want to be a Packer for life. That's all I can say about that.

"I think that's just media. That's just talk out there. I haven't seen anything yet. They haven't shown me any signs. I'm here as far as I know.

"Me and [quarterback Aaron] Rodgers are fine. We have a great relationship. I love the guy. He's a great player and an awesome quarterback. Hopefully, I'm here for the rest of my career with the guy."

Finley has another season left on his current contract with the Packers.
