Wade Phillips: 'I have a lot to offer Houston Texans'

Interim Houston Texans head coach Wade Phillips believes that he has "a lot to offer" the team having taken over from Gary Kubiak.

Interim Houston Texans head coach Wade Phillips has claimed that he has "a lot to offer" the team having been given the job until the end of the season.

Phillips was promoted from defensive coordinator to head coach after the Texans fired Gary Kubiak earlier this month having lost 11 games in a row to hold the worst record in the NFL this season.

The 66-year-old has an impressive 82-63 career record as head coach having previously been in charge of the Denver Broncos, the Buffalo Bills and the Dallas Cowboys, and he believes that he will be a success at the club.

"I can go into all of the stats and all of that stuff. Nobody wants to hear those. But if you look at the record, I think I have a lot to offer as a head coach. That's for somebody else to decide," Phillips is quoted as saying by the Houston Chronicle.

Texans owner Bob McNair has confirmed that Phillips will be considered for the full-time role when he looks for a replacement ahead of the 2014 season.
